
Eric Swanson, Varsity Head Coach
Coach Swanson is in his first year as the Head Coach of the Anderson Trojans. He grew up in Watertown, South Dakota, and graduated in 2003 from Watertown High School. In high school, Coach Swanson was a multi-sport athlete, competing in football, basketball, and track. After high school, he attended South Dakota State University, graduating in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. After college, Coach Swanson was hired back at his alma mater as a math teacher, middle school football coach, and assistant high school basketball coach. During that time, he was lucky to be a part of some very successful years in both the football and basketball programs. Coach Swanson, his girlfriend Britta, and their two dogs moved to Austin in 2014 in search of sunshine and new opportunities - a couple of things that Austin has in abundance. That year, he began his career at Anderson High School as a math teacher and assistant coach in both basketball and football. During the 2021-22 school year, Coach Swanson also served as an interim athletic coordinator for Anderson Athletics, while still assisting with football and basketball. In the fall of 2022, he also began coaching water polo as an assistant during the school's inaugural season. Coach Swanson is committed to creating opportunities for kids to grow as students, athletes, and valued members of the community. He’s excited about the future of Anderson Basketball and the opportunity to lead this storied program. Go Trojans!

Jose Chavez, JV Coach
Coach Chavez started coaching at Anderson the 2017-2018 season. He attended La Joya High School where he lettered in basketball and earned 1st Team All District honors. He graduated from Texas State University in 2017 with a BS in Exercise Sports Science and Life Science. Coach Chavez also teaches Biology and is the Head Cross Country Coach at Anderson High School. Michael Stratton, 9A Coach
Coach Stratton was born and raised in Wood River, Illinois and graduated from East Alton-Wood River High School in 2007. In high school, Coach Stratton was a three-sport athlete, playing football, basketball, and baseball. After high school, he attended Illinois State University where he graduated in 2013 where he majored in mathematics and minored in chemistry. After graduating from ISU, Coach Stratton taught and coached basketball at the middle school and high school levels at Columbia Middle School and Marquette Catholic High School. In 2018 Coach Stratton, his wife, Nichole, and their tiny Yorkie, moved to Austin and joined the Anderson community. He has taught math at Anderson since 2018 and started his basketball tenure the following year in 2019. Coach Stratton coached freshman baseball from 2021-2023 and he is currently an assistant coach for the Anderson golf team. Coach Stratton is committed to developing student athletes into men of character. He is excited to be a part of the Anderson Basketball Family and looks forward to continuing to work with and around the Anderson community. Go Trojans!

Brenden Harthun, 9B Coach
Coach Harthun was born and raised in Wenatchee, Washington and graduated from Eastmont High School in 2016. After graduating high school, Coach Harthun attended Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington where he graduated in 2020, majoring in History. In 2020, Coach Harthun began teaching at Manson Middle and High School in Manson, Washington. While teaching, he also coached high school boys’ basketball. In the summer of 2022, Coach Harthun and his fiance decided to move to Austin, Texas to live in a larger city and hopefully avoid the constant cold and snowy winters in Central Washington. 2022 was Coach Harthun’s first year with Anderson High School and boys’ basketball. He is currently coaching basketball and cross country for Anderson, while also teaching English. Coach Harthun can be found correcting people on how to say Gonzaga (gone·zag·uh), watching Gonzaga Basketball, or playing pickleball. He is a recent UT basketball fan and will root for them as well, except when they play Gonzaga of course. Coach Harthun seeks to build positive relationships with students, athletes, and the community. He pushes students / athletes to work hard and always pursue growth and progress. Michael Busby, M.Ed, LAT, ATC
Coach Busby is originally from the Florida panhandle, where he graduated from high school in 1998. He attended the University of West Florida and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training in 2002. Coach Busby then moved to Texas and earned his Master's degree in Education from the University of Texas at Tyler in 2004. He spent 6 years working in the high school setting as an athletic trainer in the east Texas area before moving to San Diego, CA to work as an athletic trainer for the US Navy and Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton. He spent 7 years there before moving to Austin with his family. Coach Busby's wife, Amanda, is a veterinarian. They have two daughters, named Harper and Henley.
During his "free time" he enjoys running, riding his bike, and just about anything outdoors, but he is most happy being with his family and his dogs. He is available to all student-athletes for injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation.

Amy Ngo, MS, ATC, LAT
Coach Ngo was born and raised in Lincoln, NE where she was volleyball player and a student athletic trainer in high school. She attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she earned a B.S. in Athletic Training in 2013 while working with Nebraska athletes and spent her senior year working and traveling with the Nebraska football team. Upon graduating, she completed an Athletic Training Internship with ESPN Wide World of Sports and Disney in Orlando, FL. Coach Ngo later attended Baylor University for graduate school and earned a M.S. in Exercise Physiology in 2016. While at Baylor, she acted as the Athletic Trainer for Riesel ISD's high school and junior high athletes and completed an internship in a sports medicine and orthopedic clinic in Waco, TX. Coach Ngo started at Anderson in 2016 and acts as one of the athletic trainers for AHS athletics and is an instructor for the Sports Medicine courses at Anderson. She available to all student athletes for injury evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation. During her free time she likes to play volleyball, hike, watch movies and spent time with family and friends. She is an avid Huskers fan and roots for the Packers.

Jonathan "Boe" Williams
Coach Jonathan “Boe” Williams. Attended Del Valle High School, where he was a multi-sport athlete who excelled in football and basketball. Coach Williams graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2009. He majored Criminal Justice and Political Science. After college Coach Williams worked in the corporate sector before transitioning into coaching full time in 2012. Coach Williams is currently in his second year as a part of the football coaching staff and entering his first year as a basketball coach for Anderson.
